Vance McCollough joins TravisWolff’s audit team

DALLAS, Aug. 3, 2010 – Vance McCollough has joined TravisWolff as a partner in its audit group. He will be responsible for working with the TravisWolff audit team in Dallas and San Antonio to provide a range of attest and advisory services to the mid-market business segment.

McCollough, a certified public accountant, previously spent 22 years with KPMG in Dallas, Austin, Seattle and Los Angeles. His last seven years were in Dallas where he served as a lead partner for the office’s Information and Communications Group, with responsibility for managing the resources and activities of 50 professionals. He has extensive experience working with businesses ranging from start-up ventures to large international companies in a variety of industries including software, electronics, semiconductors, IT services, biotechnology and publishing.

McCollough specializes in advising companies with issues related to operations, mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, internal controls, revenue recognition, business combinations, and share-based compensation. Specifically, his experience includes financial reporting and transactional issues involving acquisitions by private equity funds and spin-off transactions; analyzing financial data in support of valuation, liquidity, impairment and other significant business decisions; analysis of controls under SOX guidelines; financial advisor on SEC filings including initial public offerings, secondary equity offerings, mergers and spin-offs; application of complex revenue recognition rules and evaluation of multiple-element transactions; application of share-based compensation rules to stock option and restricted stock arrangements; acquisition-related due diligence; identification of tax planning opportunities in areas such as state and local taxes, international transfer pricing, intercompany transfers and cost allocations.

A graduate of the University of Southern California, McCollough is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.
